AMPro Spring School 2021

For scientists it is becoming increasingly important to communicate research in clear and compelling ways.

The AMPro Spring School 2021 offered two workshops that were exclusively designed for AMPro PhD students and postdocs to train them on good writing of scientific texts and clear design of scientific figures. The hands-on workshops were two-days events, taking place on 15 and 16 March 2021.

The workshop "Applying design principles to schematic figures" was given by Sandra Krahl, an experienced graphic designer with many years of experience in the visual representation of scientific results. The participants learnt what design is and how to successfully apply design principles to create their own compelling figures.

Natalie Struve, who coaches academic writers of all fields and levels since many years, gave the workshop "Write like a pro: How to get started, organised, finished – and succeed with your texts". The participants learnt practical methods and techniques that make writing life easier, make texts easier on readers, and help to achieve more in less time.
